Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao promises a slumless Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has grand plans to enhance the brand image of Hyderabad. He revealed his plans to transform Hyderabad into a “global city” during his address at the Parade Grounds here on Monday. He said he is aiming to make Hydera-bad a “slumless city” by providing houses to all the poor and needy.
The Chief Minister stated that his government would provide world-class facilities to attract new investments and industries to the city and provide jobs to the unemployed. He said security in the city would be tightened by setting up 10,000 CCTV cameras and police surveillance will be increased, especially in Cyberabad, to protect women employees working in late shifts in the IT sector.
“We have many plans and ideas to enhance Hyderabad’s brand image. World-class transport and infrastructure facilities will be provided. There should not be any slums in the city. Housing will be provided to all. All this will be implemented in a time-bound manner,” he added.
Mr Rao said that his government realises the importance of law and order when it comes to attracting new investments in the city. “Every care will be taken to see that there is law and order in the city. No one will be spared if they try to create law and order problems. Security of people will not be compromised. We will increase police surveillance in each and every galli and set up CCTV cameras for monitoring anti-social elements,” he said.
Stating that the city is already leading in information technology and pharma sectors in the country, he said his government would give a boost to these sectors to create direct and indirect employment.
