25 others sustained injuries when the concrete roof of a building collapsed

Hyderabad: Six women and a girl were killed while 25 others sustained injuries when the concrete roof of a building collapsed in Andhra Pradesh's Kadapa district on Tuesday, police said.
The incident occurred at around 12:30 PM at Nawabpet village in Mylavaram mandal of the district when the roof of the single-storeyed building, from where a group of people were watching a cremation procession, gave way, killing six women and a girl aged around 10 years, Jammalamadugu ASP Venkata Appala Naidu told PTI.
He said 25 others were injured in the incident.
Rescue operation was on and some people have been rescued in the incident, they added.
The area had witnessed heavy rains last night.
