BJP upset with Shiv Sena over Maharashtra CM candidate
New Delhi: Ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, a tussle has begun between the BJP and the Shiv Sena on the chief ministerial candidate issue.
The Shiv Sena said that its cadre wants party chief Uddhav Thackeray as the CM candidate the Sena-BJP alliance, but the safffron party insists that the issue should be decided after the elections.
In an indication that this could hit the alliance, an editorial in the Sena mouthpiece Saamna took a dig at Union minister and BJP leader Gopinath Munde over his CM ambitions. It is learnt that the saffron leadership is in two minds over projecting a CM nominee.
The Shiv Sena’s announcement of making Uddhav Thackeray as the CM candidate came two days after his estranged cousin and MNS chief Raj Thackeray announced that he would contest Assembly elections and would become the Chief Minister if his party gets the mandate.
