Chennai: It seems like it is the season for romance in K’Town and for the hero to romance at least two heroines on screen. Some of the major flicks coming up that sport this trend, include those of Rajini (Lingaa), Kamal Haasan (Utthama Villain), Vijay (Chimbu Devan’s new film) and Ajith (Gautham Menon’s untitled movie). The Superstar cosies up to Sonakshi and Anushka, Ajith has Anushka and Trisha.
Joining this list is Jayam Ravi, who is teaming up with Hansika for the second time in Romeo Juliet. We hear now that the sexy Poonam Bajwa, who was away briefly from the silver screen, has also been roped in for the film by director Lakshman, a former associate of S. J. Suryah. A close source reveals that that though the title suggests that the film is an intense romance, actually it is not! The genre is new to Tamil cinema, he adds. Hansika once again essays an air hostess’s role after Settai in RJ. Hansika and Ravi are poles apart when it comes to romance in the film. Hansika is 10 years ahead of time and always concerned about having a secure life in 2025, while Ravi is poetic and wants to express his love like the lovers of 1947. “It’s an awesome role and a beautiful script,” an excited Hansika tells DC. A huge set of a modern bungalow has been put up at a cost of 1 crore by art director Milan at Purasaiwalkam in the city where important scenes were shot recently. A kutthu number, composed by D. Imman for Jayam Ravi and Hansika, will be canned there next week.
