World Tobacco Day: Harsher tobacco warnings likely
Health Ministry is contemplating harsher pictorial warnings
New Delhi: On the occasion of World Tobacco Day, PM Narendra Modi on Saturday asked countrymen to say no to tobacco and lay the foundation of a healthier India.
“On World No Tobacco Day, let’s pledge to spread awareness on the risks of tobacco consumption and work to reduce tobacco consumption in India,” the Mr Modi tweeted.
With the PM’s agenda clear on tobacco, the health ministry is contemplating “harsher” pictorial warnings.
The health ministry is expected to engage civil society for harsher pictures.
