Governor ratifies Mahaveer hospital lease renewal
Hyderabad: Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on Saturday ratified the renewal of the lease of Mahaveer Hospital and Research Centre in Hyderabad for 30 years with effect from March 8, 2007, pending finalisation of the lease rentals. On Saturday, Mr Narasimhan held a high-level meeting at Raj Bhavan that was attended by chief secretary P.K. Mohanty, advisors to the Governor and others. The meeting also accepted the proposal for additional staff, accommodation and vehicles requi-red by the Raj Bhavan due to state reorganisation.
The Governor also accepted the proposal for allotment of land to badminton coach Pullela Gopichand for establishment of a badminton academy.
However, the proposal related to the deletion of the condition for nominating senior officers, like special chief secretary to the government, finance, and principal secretary youth and tourism and sports department as members of the governing body of the badminton academy, would be referred to the new government with favourable recommendations.
