Article 370 row unnecessary: Rao Inderjit Singh
Punjab CM also requested Centre to take all political parties into confidence
New Delhi: Union minister of state for defence Rao Inderjit Singh on Friday said a controversy over Article 370 is “unnecessary” at a time when the new government is yet to take over completely.
“Nothing can vitiate the fact that Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) is an ‘integral part’ of India and it always will be,” said Mr. Singh.
“At a time when the new government is yet to completely take over the routine functioning in the office, any controversy around Article 370 seems unnecessary,” he said in his Facebook post.
The comments were made in the backdrop of a row triggered by his ministerial colleague Jitendra Singh over Article 370 which had also evoked a sharp reaction from parties in J&K including Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
