Tension between the Secretariat employees escalated
Hyderabad: The ongoing tension between the Secretariat employees of the two states escalated on Friday. Tension prevailed for almost two hours after Murali Krishna, the AP Secretariat Seemandhra Employees’ Forum chairman, and others objected to the board of Telangana Secretariat Employees’ Association being erected at the H (North) Block, which currently houses the AP Secretariat Employees’ Association office.
The T employees’ association wanted to hold its meeting in this block. On being informed that the T employees had set up their boards in H (north) Block, the Seemandhra employees came running and questioned the Telangana employees about how they could conduct their meeting and set up boards there.
Telangana employees’ leader Padma Chary said as the allocation of buildings (till that time) was formally done, associations of both Telangana and Seemandhra could use the building. He said the AP employees will have rights over the building only from June 2.
This led to heated arguments between the employees from both sides. The situation turned so bad that police had to intervene.
Both Telangana and Seemandhra employees leveled allegations and counter-allegations. While the Seemandhra employees said they will not be bogged down by such attempts, the Telangana employees said they will not allow Seemandhra employees in Telangana Secretariat buildings.
Later in the evening, the state government allocated the office space in first floor of the H (North) Block to the AP Secretariat Association. However, T association is yet to be allocated an office space in the Telangana Secretariat.
