Mee Seva services shut down till June 1
Hyderabad: Activities at the RTA came to a grinding halt due to server change being initiated for division of the transport department. Mee Seva services were affected on Friday and will remain closed till Sunday. Ahead of the state’s bifurcation on June 2, most departments are switching their servers into two and Mee Seva is splitting into two departments. This will affect services of various departments.
Online services will re-open on June 2, with separate Telangana and Andhra Pradesh servers. However, the segregation of huge data available (both digitised and non digitised) is likely to take some more time.
The Mee Seva has digitised data of the last couple of years, while digitisation of older data has not been completed yet. With most government departments switching their servers and shuffling files, Mee Seva will be shut down for three days.
On Friday, Mee Seva centres remained open, but at most centres services were inaccessible. “Mee Seva is being bifurcated. Therefore, the services will not be available till June 1. New servers will be operational from June 2,” said a senior official.
Most departments and government offices are switching sides or floors within the current office space to accommodate both T and Andhra offices.
Division of data will affect the services of Mee Seva. “Mee Seva has been struggling to digitise birth records, land records etc. of 15 to 20 years back. The division will only delay it further,” added the official.
