Employees divided on ‘orders to serve’ basis
Hyderabad: The state government will make provisional allocation of employees on ‘orders to serve’ basis for three months to Telangana state on either May 31 or June 1.
It is taking legal opinion to declare Sunday, i.e. June 1, as a working day to facilitate employees to get ready and report to the new T government on June 2 morning as per ‘orders to serve’ guidelines.
“On May 31 or June 1, the government is expected to make provisional allocation of employees to T state government for three months only on ‘orders to serve’ basis. The remaining employees would work for AP. Separate orders for Seemandhra employees are unlikely to be issued or they can be issued on or before June 8, when the AP CM assumes charge,” said an official.
The employees will be given 15-day time to submit their grievances pertaining to allocation of ‘order to serve’.
Chief Secretary P.K. Mohanty held discussions with leaders and representatives of Telangana and Seemandhra Secretariat Employees’ Associations on Friday.
He explained that allocation of employees would be done based on central government guidelines. Government is also considering provisional allocation of employees on nativity basis so that employees can serve their region, he said.
The Central guidelines pertaining to allocation of employees are expected to reach the state on Saturday.
Apparently, both T and AP employees working in Secretariat have given their in-principle approval to provisional allocation on ‘orders to serve’ basis.
After the meeting, the T-employees’ leaders Srinivas Goud and others reiterated that employees of respective regions should work for their governments.
“While T-employees will work for T-government, the Seemandhra employees should work for AP,” the T employees’ leaders said. While T-Employees’ Association urged the CS to ensure that injustice is not meted out to them, AP employees wanted options to be given.
