3 cops terminated after outrage over Uttar Pradesh rapes
Lucknow: UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said on Friday that three police personnel had been terminated and two of them had been arrested in connection with the case.
He said that security would be provided to the family of the victims. He assured action against the guilty in the case and said that the case would be sent to a fast track court to ensure speedy trial.
He has also announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the kin of the victims.
The BSP meanwhile, demanded a CBI probe into the incident and the dismissal of the Akhilesh government.
Union home minister Rajnath Singh, sources said, has a telephonic conversation with Mr Akhilesh Yadav. Mr Singh conveyed his concern over the incident and the chief minister informed him of the action taken in the matter.
