Actress Vedhika turned lucky for the second time

The actress said no for Vysakh’s Mallu Singh, working on his new film Cousins

Kochi: Destiny cannot be changed as Vedhika realised. The lissome lass was supposed to do Samvritha Sunil’s role in director Vysakh’s Mallu Singh, but her dates clashed with the other films she was acting in. She had to forgo the film. Vedhika was also supposed to be a part of Pokkirri Raja, starring Prithviraj, but again things did not work out. Destiny had other things in store for her.

She will now be the heroine of Vysakh’s new film Cousins and has also shared screen space with Prithviraj in the Tamil movie Kaaviya Thalaivan.

Smiling prettily, she says, “There is a time and place for everything!”

Vedhika adds, “I have had the incredible luck to have worked with three stars — Prithvi, Dileep and now Kunchako Boban — in a span of one year. In fact, I acted with Prithvi and Dileep simultaneously in KT and Sringaravelan.”

Talking about Cousins, Vedhika says, “Though it is too early to talk about the character, it is an amazing performance-oriented role. Vysakh’s frames are very colourful and I am looking forward to the song and dance sequences. I just hope the director has something spectacular on show.” A treat would surely await her fans because both Kunchacko and Vedhika are good dancers.

Optimism is one of her strong points and she states, “Every time you do a big film, you end up losing out on other smaller film offers. It is a part and parcel of the merry-go-around that is cinema. I believe in being fully committed to the films that I am a part of.”

Vedhika is also busy with Kannada films and she talks about the blurring borders among film industries. “The south film industry is becoming more open-minded about people appreciating artistes from other languages. Talent is being imported and superstars across the industries appreciate each other’s work. The superstars in the South have no egos and are very accepting of each other’s talents.”

What has Vedhika absolutely over the moon is her good fortune of working with A.R. Rahman in two of her films. She also had the opportunity to interact with him during the music launch and is impressed by the maestro’s down-to-earth behaviour.
