"I am really extremely, truthfully, totally single": Shruti Hassan

Chennai: There were rumours about them being spotted at star hotels and her being his lucky mascot. But when the news became uncomfortably public, both Suresh Raina and Shruti Haasan quickly went into denial mode. Following reports that Shruti and the CSK cricketer were in a long-term, steady relationship – confirmed by various sources, Raina took to social media to defend his single status. Tweeting vehemently, Raina said, ”Too many media reports which no one even tries to confirm. This is to clear once & for all. I’m not dating ANYONE.”

While the cricketer couldn’t be reached for comment, Shruti was more than willing to clear up the rumour. “I’m really extremely, truthfully, totally single! Between working in three industries, I hardly have time to breathe, much less be in a relationship. My life is high-octane, full of energy and non-stop; I need someone who lives in a similar manner to mine, to make it work. When I find a guy like that, I’ll announce it to the world, trust me,” the actress bemusedly says.

So no actors or sportsmen have attracted her? “Please, I’d never date a hero. My mirror isn’t big enough for two vain people!” she laughs.
Shruti though, had yet another controversy to tackle recently when explicit leaked images were released online, that led her to file a complaint,

“It takes a lot to scar me. I consider the movie set my second home, being away from the family, and it is the cast and crew who take care of us. When something like this happens as an invasion of privacy, it is deeply disturbing and unsettling. But the response I’ve gotten since then, has managed to recoup some of my faith in the profession.”

She’s looking forward to Akshara also entering films, but says she refrains from offering any advice, “Coming from a family where advice doesn’t reach too far (laughs) – it enters one ear and goes out the next — I haven’t given Akshara any suggestions because I feel it’s important for her to make her own life choices. But I give unconditional support in whatever she does.”
