Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders order sweets, fire crackers
Hyderabad: Despite passing of the Telangana Bill, the TRS had decided to keep the mega celebrations on hold till the Appointed Date of June 2.
TRS leaders and cadre, who are in an upbeat mood after the party’s spectacular win in the recent Assembly and Lok Sabha polls, are pulling out all the stops to celebrate the formation day in a big way.
Party leaders have already ordered huge quantity of fire crackers and sweets for the occasion. “It will be a day to remember. We will celebrate with gusto while remembering the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Telangana,” said Mr T. Harish Rao, TRS politburo member and MLA.
Telangana Joint Action Committee chairman Prof. Kodandaram has asked all TJAC leaders and members to join the celebrations at the Martyrs Memorial at Gun Park on June 1 from 8 pm till midnight and the whole day on June 2.
According to TRS leaders, celebrations have been planned in all 10 districts of the state.
Meanwhile, KCR on Thursday kept visitors at bay and was reportedly busy finalising his Cabinet and also officials for the CMO and other key departments in the Secretariat.
A large number of MLAs aspiring for Cabinet berths reached KCR’s residence at Banjara Hills. Those who could not get an audience, rushed to Mr Harish Rao and Mr K.T. Rama Rao, the most sought after leaders in TRS after the party chief since they are not only his nephew and son, but also part of the party think tank.
While Mr Harish Rao, Mr Rama Rao, Mr Etala Rajender, Mr Nayani Narasimha Reddy and few other MLAs are at ease since they are confident of plump portfolios, it’s the other MLAs and MLCs who are tensed about their prospects of getting Cabinet berths and portfolios.
“There are only 18 Cabinet berths including the CM while there are 63 MLAs besides some MLCs. It’s no easy task for KCR since majority of them had been involved in the Telangana movement,” said a ministerial aspirant.
Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan has invited Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao to form the government along with his Council of Ministers on June 2 itself at 8.15 am.
Mr Narasimhan will be sworn in as the Telangana Governor by Andhra Pradesh High Court Chief Justice, Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta, at Raj Bhavan on the same day at 6.30 am before he administers the oath of office to KCR and his team.
