N Chandrababu Naidu talks to Krishna, Guntur district leaders

Meeting held to discuss Mr Naidu's swearing-in ceremony

Hyderabad: AP CM-designate N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday held a meeting with Krishna and Guntur district leaders to discuss arrangements for the ceremony.

The ceremony was earlier planned for 11.45 am, but was later shifted to 7.27 pm as party leaders represented to him that it could be too hot at noon.

They said almost 5 lakh people are expected to turn up to attend the ceremony, and it would be difficult for them to wait in the hot sun.

Mr Naidu asked party leaders to make it a simple function but they told him that they could not stop the people and party workers who want to attend in large numbers.

Mr Naidu has set up various committees to monitor the different arrangements for the mega-fete.

The TD Legislature party meeting will be held at Tirupati on June 5 or 6 to elect Mr Naidu as the TDLP leader. TD leaders suggested that the TDLP meeting be held two days before than the swearing-in in order to give time to MLAs and MPs who are overseeing arrangements for the June 8 fete. Mr told them that the TDLP meeting will be held without disturbing the arrangements.

On Thursday, Mr Naidu hosted high tea for TD leaders at his residence. He congratulated party leaders for making a grand success of the Mahanadu function at Gandipet, which ended on Wednesday.
