K Chandrasekhar Rao not to invite N Chandrababu Naidu for swearing-in
Hyderabad: As expected, Telangana CM-designate K. Chandrasekhar Rao is not inviting his Seemandhra counter part N. Chandrababu Naidu for his swearing-in as first Chief Minister of newly carved Telangana state on June 2. This was confirmed from his close confidants on Thursday.
Both the leaders are not in talking terms ever since they have indulged in personal attack against each other during the past few years which continued even in the election campaign in the recent polls.
“We have decided not to invite either Chandrababu Naidu or any other national leader for the ceremony. Instead, we are inviting the family members of Telangana martyrs who had laid down their lives for the sake of separate state,” a key confidant of Mr Rao told this newspaper.
It is nothing but a courtesy to extend invite to leaders of reputation either by writing to them or calling them personally which is not going to happen in the case of Telangana Chief Minister swearing-in on June 2.
When this was pointed out, a TD functionary said, “Even if he (KCR) changes his mind and invite, it is doubtful if Chandrababu will attend the ceremony, similarly Chandrababu also may not be inclined to invite KCR for his swearing-in on June 8 near Guntur”.
This unusual thing may bring more bitterness among the two would be Chief Ministers of the neighbouring states, especially when the issues pertaining to bifurcation of the state bound to create controversies.
