Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam is expecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and about five lakh people to watch the grand swearing-in ceremony of N. Chandrababu Naidu as the first Chief Minister of the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh on June 8. The ceremony is scheduled for 7.27 pm on June 8.

Mr Naidu will leave for Delhi on Friday to personally invite Mr Modi, NDA leaders, Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states, apart from Naveen Patnaik of Odisha to attend the ceremony.

Meanwhile, N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday held a meeting with Krishna and Guntur district leaders to discuss arrangements for the ceremony. The ceremony was earlier planned for 11.45 am, but was later shifted to 7.27 pm as party leaders represented to him that it could be too hot at noon.

They said almost 5 lakh people are expected to turn up to attend the ceremony, and it would be difficult for them to wait in the hot sun.
