Woman stabbed, thrown off moving vehicle
Hyderabad: A woman was stabbed and thrown out of a moving vehicle on the Outer Ring Road on Wednesday midnight near Himayatsagar. The seriously injured woman, in her early thirties, was brought to Osmania General Hospital by the police. However, she later succumbed to her injuries.
The Rajendranagar police is investigating whether she was kidnapped and raped before being dumped by the attackers. Police has booked a murder case and has started investigation. “We have booked a murder case under Section 302. We are awaiting the postmortem report. If it shows that she had been raped, we will add additional charges,” said Rajendranagar inspector Kushalkar.
Before dying the victim had told the police that she was a resident of Erraboda and that she belonged to Mahbubnagar. “She had injuries on her forehead, left shoulder, left hand and chin. Her left leg was also broken as she was thrown off a moving vehicle,” said the police officer.
“She had bruises on her body and also dust and grass which indicates that she was dragged on the road by a vehicle. The victim was dragged for at least five feet after she fell off the vehicle,” said the police officer, who shifted the victim to hospital.
On Wednesday midnight, the police got an alert from emergency services 100 that a passerby had spotted a seriously injured woman lying on the road. The police went to the spot and rushed her to hospital in a 108 ambulance.
“She was half conscious, gave her name and place before she collapsed,” said a police officer. The police has started searching for the victim’s relatives, who have not shown up yet. The cops are yet to find the attackers. “We do not know who they are, but we have launched a hunt for them and are confident of nabbing them soon,” the inspector said.
