Karan Johar steps into a photographer's shoes

The director was raising funds for a photographer for Colors' Mission Sapne

Mumbai: Visitors to the Gateway of India monument in Mumbai were surprised to see filmmaker Karan Johar taking photographs of tourists there. KJo had stepped into the shoes of Hemant Das, who is one among the many photographers who works near the monument, clicking photographs of visitors to earn their livelihood. The proceedings will telecast on Colors’ Mission Sapne to raise money so that Hemant can repay his many loans and pay for his 8-year-old son’s education.
“No one’s schedule is so busy that you cannot make time for a good cause,” Karan said, talking about his experience. “Marketing for a movie is much like begging audiences to watch our movies! This makes me an expert at begging and I will go to any lengths to raise enough funds for Hemant Das,” he added.
