Alcatel launches One Touch Idol X+ smartphone for Rs 16,999

The smartphone includes a health Boomband and JBL Headphones in the box

Mumbai: Alcatel has announced the launch of the One Touch Idol X+ at an event in a prominent hotel in Connaught Place, Delhi on May 29.

Regional director of Alcatel, Praveen Valecha and Sr. VP of Flipkart, Micheal Adnani will be present at the event.

The One Touch Idol X+ is an upgraded version of the older sibling, the Idol X. Though most of the specifications are almost identical, there are a few notable differences, which make is a better performer.

Compared to the Idol X the One Touch X+ weighs the same, at 130g, but is thicker by 1mm at 7.9mm. The two phones have an identical display which is a 5-incher full HD IPS with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. However, unlike the Idol X, the Idol X+ sports a Gorilla glass 2.

While the Idol X features just a 1.7GHz dual-core processor, the Idol X+ is built using a MediaTek MT6592 chipset which sports a quad-core processor clocked at 2GHz and 2GB of RAM. The graphics processor is a MALI-450MP4. The internal storage has two options, 16GB and 32GB and you cannot expand the storage as it does not sport a microSD card slot.

The rest of the features that are identical are the 13MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, GPS and FM Radio. Lastly, the battery fueling the Idol X+ is slightly higher at 2500mAh, which should compromise on the power used by the faster processor within.

The Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ is available only in Black colour and 16GB variant on Flipkart and the MRP is Rs 16,999.
