E S L Narasimhan gets additional charge as Governor for Telangana

Hyderabad: With the Warrant of Appointment mentioning that AP Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan will be the governor of Telangana from the day he assumes charge, Raj Bhavan sources said that Mr Narasimhan would take oath only on June 2, i.e. on the Appointed Day when the two states come into existence.

This also means that Mr Narasimhan should first take oath as the Telangana Governor before the TRS chief, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao, takes oath as the first Chief Minister of Telangana. The Chief Justice of High Court will administer the oath to Mr Narasimhan before Mr Rao’s swearing-in-ceremony, which is scheduled for 8.15 am. Mr Narasimhan will then, in turn, administer the oath of office and secrecy to Mr Chandrasekhar Rao.
