Stench no bar for lead pair of City Lights
Mumbai: The actors of the upcoming film Citylights didn’t have it easy while shooting for the film.
The story, which revolves around the challenges of making a living in a city like Mumbai, required them to sleep on the streets on Juhu next to a heap of garbage, for one of the scenes.
Hansal Mehta, the director, who is known for portraying real experiences on screen, did not compromise on the authenticity. Instead of creating a set or using dummy characters, he shot with real garbage and homeless people on the streets.
What the lead pair — Rakjummar Rao and Patralekha — did not anticipate was how difficult shooting the scene would be. “When they actually started filming, they felt nauseated by the stench. To add to his horror, Rajkummar realised that the garbage heap that they were leaning against, was oozing with wastewater, which was making its way into their clothes.
But being thorough professionals, the actors did not throw any tantrums and only requested Hansal to shoot the scene quickly,” said a source.
