Geo network apologises to ISI, Pakistan Army
Hamid Mir's assassination: Geo levelled charges against ISI and Pakistan army
Islamabad: The Jang group-owned Geo TV network has apologised to Pakistan Army, the powerful spy agency ISI and its chief Lt Gen. Zaheerul Islam and his family, for levelling allegations against them over an assassination bid on leading anchor Hamid Mir.
In an apology published in the English daily The News and the Urdu Jang, the group clarified that they were respectful of Pakistani forces and its leadership.
“We have always appreciated their sacrifices to safeguard our borders and the security of our country,” it said.
It accepted that its coverage was “misleading, disproportionate and inappropriate, giving the impression of a campaign.”
The group also apologised to a large number of television viewers for causing “deep hurt.”
