Amway CEO gets caught on cheating charges

CID had registered a case against the company in 2006

Anantapur: In a major breakthrough, Kurnool police on Tuesday arrested US national William S. Pinckney, the chief executive officer of Amway, an organisation linked to the chain link scheme, in connection with charges against the organisation for allegedly cheating people, based on a complaint by advocate Jagannath Reddy.

A special team of Kunrool police nabbed Mr Pinckney at Gurgaon in Delhi and shifted him to Kurnool on Tuesday.
Kurnool SP B. Raghunath Reddy said that Amway has been acting against the law and doing business similar to money circulation in all parts of the country.

Cases have been pending against the organisation, which has been supplying its products through chain link system for the past 15 years. CID had also registered a case against the organisation in 2006.

Mr Jagannath Reddy of Kurnool lodged a complaint against Amway with the II Town police station.

Mr Pinckney was produced in the local court and remanded to judicial custody for 14 days. He was shifted to Kadapa central prison.
SP Raghurami Reddy had also said detailed probe would be done against the chain link scheme and against the district organisers of Amway organisation.
