Mumbai: ASUS has launched RT-AC52U, an AC750 dual-band wireless router that can provide a data speeds of up to 733Mbit/s.
RT-AC52U can transmit and receive data at up to 300Mbit/s in the 2.4GHz band and up to 433Mbit/s in the 5GHz range. The 733Mbit/s combined bandwidth will enable web surfing and buffer-free online gaming and HD content-streaming on the less-congested 5GHz frequency. Its high-powered amplifiers for extended indoor and outdoor range. It can provide Wi-Fi connections via both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. This dual-band router includes a specially-designed antenna that extends the wireless signal by up to 150% compared to other routers.
It is also packed with a USB port, which can be connected to a printer, hard disk drive or 3G/4G (HSPA+) data connection as well. It can even be used to charge mobile gadgets such as smartphones and tablets. As per official reports, ASUS RT-AC52U also supports ASUS AiCloud for easy file synchronization, sharing and streaming. Users can even have two broadband (WAN) connections on one router providing an effective backup (failover mode) to ensure uninterrupted internet access.
As per official reports, the ASUS AiCloud technology helps it convert into personal cloud server. Files stored on the network, on attached USB storage devices or on ASUS WebStorage can be synchronized using the ASUS Smart Sync feature. They can also be shared with friends, colleagues and family members simply by sending a link via email, text message or popular social networking apps. Users can access their data via the AiCloud web interface or the free AiCloudapp for Android and iOS devices.
AiCloud also features a new router-to-router synchronization mode that automatically synchronizes USB-connected storage on other compatible ASUS routers as well.
Its ASUSWRT dashboard makes it simple to configure its networking features, such as quality-of-service (QoS) prioritization. This feature also helps users to monitor and control the bandwidth usage on each of the four available Ethernet (LAN) connections.
Other ASUSWRT features also include parental controls, dual WAN management, network mapping and printer sharing. RT-AC52U also sports an easy-to-configure VPN server, configured via ASUSWRT, so users can set up private, secure remote access to their home network.
The market price of ASUS RT-AC52U is Rs 7800 and will soon be available in all leading stores.
