K Chandrasekhar Rao unwilling to foot Andhra Pradesh bill
Hyderabad: Telangana CM-in-waiting K. Chandrasekhar Rao is not willing to bear expenditure of Seemandhra offices, situated at Telangana after June 2.
The issue came to light during a power-point presentation on Friday made by Chief Secretary P.K. Mohanty. Mr Rao reportedly objected and said that it would impose huge financial burden on Telangana government.
Mr Rao also told the CS that he would take up the issue with the Governor and the Centre. All the existing offices in Hyderabad, including the the Secretariat, will serve both the states. This apart, there are quarters of ministers, MLAs, IAS and IPS officers. But the entire operational and maintenance costs like power, water and other charges are supposed to be borne by the Telangana government, as they all are registered under it.
There is no provision in the AP Reorganisation Bill-2014 over sharing of expenditure incurred towards running AP government by Telangana government in Hyderabad.
However, the officials have prepared proposals to this effect on the grounds that Hyderabad serves as joint capital for both the states for a period of ten years and it belongs to T as per the Act, passed in Parliament.
