Andhra Pradesh underperforms in CBSE Class XII
Hyderabad: State students lagged behind in the Class XII exam results of Southern region announced by the Central Board of Secondary Education on Monday. AP secured a pass percentage of 92.47.
In the Southern region, Daman and Diu secured 100 per cent results, followed by Goa (99.53), Karnataka (97.75), Tamil Nadu (97.02), Pondicherry (96.56), Maharashtra (93.51), Andaman and Nicobar Islands (74.69). The overall pass percentage of Southern region was 92.89.
From the state, 5,086 boys and 3,439 girls appeared for the exams. Out of them, 4,635 boys and 3,258 girls have passed. Girls outperformed boys with pass percentage of 94.45 against 91.13, secured by boys.
According to Dr T. Sudharshan Rao, regional director, Chennai region, the results have been dispatched to all the schools. The candidates who wish to apply for verification or re-checking of marks and compartmental examination as well should visit the CBSE website for details.
As usual, Kendriya Vidyalaya schools and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, run by the Centre, dominated the results by securing pass percentage of 98.26 and 99.27 respectively.
From the city, Hari Priya Perni from Meridian School, scored an aggregate of 95 per cent in the commerce stream and Sruthi Paturi scored 91 per cent in the science stream.
The results in english were good with 16 students securing 95 per cent. The highest score in maths was 99 per cent, accountancy 97 per cent, business studies 96 per cent and entrepreneurship 96 per cent, chemistry 96 per cent, biology 95 per cent, informatics practices 95 per cent and physics 91 per cent.
From Kennedy High, the Global School, Vedant Patel secured 95 per cent marks.
