Parents’ support made the duo’s dream come true
Hyderabad: The families of Malavath Poorna and Sadanapalli Anand Kumar who summitted Mount Everest on Sunday, held back bad news so that the children would not be deterred in their quest.
Poorna’s parents faced severe health problems in the last three months but asked officials not to inform their daughter about it.
Poorna’s father M. Devidas said, “We wanted our daughter to achieve this extraordinary feat and bring laurels for the country. We did not want to disturb her by informing about our problems.”
“She told us that she will succeed in her mission and after coming back she will focus on studies to become IPS officer,” added the proud father.
Anand’s father Kondal Rao said his son wants to become a doctor. “He always talks of becoming a doctor,” said he adding, “Anand loves his grandmother very much. She died recently but we did not disclose this to Anand fearing that it would affect his effort.”
