Legal hands to continue beyond June 2
Hyderabad: The state government on Friday decided to continue with the advocate general, additional advocates general, state public prosecutor and additional public prosecutors, government pleaders and standing counsel, who have been appointed for the state of Andhra Pradesh, and to allow them to appear on behalf of Telangana, also before courts and tribunals, as an interim measure, till appointments are made to the posts by the respective state governments.
The government has issued a GO to this effect stating that till the new state of Telangana come into existence there is every need for an AG and other law officers to appear before the High Court and state level tribunals and in normal course it would take considerable time for the appointment of the AG and other law officers duly following procedures and government business rules.
