Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister-designate K. Chandrasekhar Rao will take oath of office as the first Chief Minister of the new state of Telangana at Raj Bhavan on June 2, the appointed date for the new state to come into existence.
Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan will administer the oath of office to Mr Rao and his team at Raj Bhavan. The exact time of taking the oath of office has not been announced yet. Some sources say 12.57, while Raj Bhavan says it’s likely to be before noon.
The time is of great importance to the superstitious Mr Rao. The time 12.57 pm is favoured since when the individual numbers are added, it’s his lucky number 6. That is, 1+2+5+7=15. i.e. 1+5=6!
So obsessed is Mr Rao with numerology, that it is said he may have a Cabinet of 15 members because 1+5=6.
“Mr Rao will take oath on June 2. This is confirmed. The time is yet to be finalised,” Mr K.T. Rama Rao said on Friday.
