Mumbai: Armaan Jain could well be one of the most fortunate debutants in the industry. He gets to lip sync to a song sung by none other than A.R. Rahman. The music maestro had lent his voice to Armaan’s cousin Ranbir Kapoor in Rockstar. From what we hear, Ranbir was keen on Rahman lending his voice to Armaan Jain in his debut Lekar Hum Deewana Dil and he managed to convince him.
Our source says, “It is not easy to get Rahman on board as he is very particular about what he sings and who he sings for. It took a lot to convince him and at the very last minute, just as the song was about to be recorded, Rahman agreed.” When contacted, Rahman confirmed the news. He said, “Yes it was a last minute decision. The song is a great way to connect with the younger audiences. I wish Armaan a great future in Hindi cinema.”
The song, which is titled Khalifa, was composed in one night. The source adds, “It was the result of an overnight jam session. It has been a long time since Rahman has come up with a party number like that. He has composed the rest of the songs in the film as well.”
