Seemandhra staff to fight for rights
Hyderabad: Seemandhra employees have claimed that they would even sit under trees in the new capital city and work for the development of Andhra Pradesh, if they have to.
Murali Krishna, chairman, AP Secretariat Seemandhra Employees Forum, asked, “Why would any self-respecting Seemandhra employee want to bear insults and humiliation?”
Mr Krishna met chief secretary P.K. Mohanty on Thursday and complained about the veiled threats and unparliamentary language being used by some of the Telangana employee leaders.
He also appealed to Andhra Pradesh chief minister-designate, N. Chandrababu Naidu to speed up the process of identification of the capital city.
Referring to Telangana chief minister-in-waiting, K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s statement that Seemandhra employees would not be allowed to work in the Telangana Secretariat, Mr Krishna said everyone should abide by the guidelines being issued by the Central government on the division of state employees.
The guidelines regarding the same are expected to be issued by the end of this month. He also said that their Secretariat will take up this issue with the Union home ministry.
“We will fight for the legitimate rights of Seemandhra employees and also move court to protect our interests,” he said, adding that the division of employees cannot be done as per whims and fancies of people of any one region or state.
