Mumbai: A film has taken promotions to a very non-appetising level.
Makers of the thriller, Pizza in 3D which is a remake of popular Tamil movie Pizza came up with a unique promotional strategy, which involved, lead of the movie, Akshay Oberoi, dressing up as a pizza delivery boy and actually ‘delivering’ it to random households in Mumbai .
There were obviously quite a few strange reactions from ‘customers’.
“The moment people saw the pizza actually I would like to call it the ‘badsurat’ pizza they reacted weirdly. Some even refused to take them because it looked gross (the toppings had eyeballs and fingers). But later, when I told them it was a cake, they relished it.”
When asked if he too enjoyed the weird-looking pizza, he said, “Yes, it is yummy and delicious, filled with cream and strawberry.”
The crew are however pretty clear about the stunt being a promotional gimmick.
“I feel it’s very important to create a buzz and I am happy to see the reactions. I also feel the purpose of this promotion has been achieved,” said Oberoi.
