Ramya back to showbiz post election loss, gears up for 'Aryan'

Sandalwood star Ramya gets candid as she talks about her upcoming projects
Bangalore: Just days before the results of the general elections, actor-turned-politician Ramya, tweeted saying, “If I win, I will work, (if I) lose, life goes on. We are all here briefly, you got to do what you got to do. Find happiness. Find Love.” She became the youngest MP from the state and for her, it was an eventful previous year, wherein she lost her father, a guiding star and also went on to win her first state award for best actress. She later faced several hurdles in the election for the second consecutive time for various political reasons, as is evident with her loss of a mere margin of 5,000-odd votes!
With a thin margin, it is always difficult to choose the “real winner” but Ramya accepts it with grace, as she was amongst the first to congratulate the winning candidate from Mandya, “Congratulations to Mr Puttaraju, it was a good fight but there can be only one winner.”
As she assures that she will continue to work for the people of Mandya, Ramya, who did not take up any new film projects is now keeping her options open to getting back to her first love, “acting.”
She makes it very clear that so far, she has not been approached for any film projects nor has she gone looking for any. “I have Aryan up for release, and nothing else apart from it. I have not heard any scripts or approached anyone. I never approach anyone for films — I will never do that,” Ramya says, adding, “If someone approaches me and narrates a fabulous script, I will take it up.”
Even as there is speculation that Ramya is shifting from Mandya after results, she hits back saying that she had to vacate the house in Mandya, as it was given to her temporarily on goodwill. “Mandya is family and you never leave your family, do you?” she questions those speculating unnecessarily, post the election loss.
She has also said that she will be back after she finds a suitable space for her office in the coming days, as she plans to recruit young aspirants to assist her in her political duties.
It was during the shooting of Aryan, where she is paired opposite Shivarajkumar for the first time, that she had expressed emotionally that Aryan “could” be her last film. “The industry gave me recognition, and love and appreciation over the years. But with my political duties, I am unable to give enough time to acting in movies, and moreover, I do not want to trouble producers, who invest in my films. Unlike many, I entered politics while I was still at the peak of my acting career and to do a film, it demands at least a 60 day call sheet,” Ramya had explained.
Even as the Sandalwood Queen is slowly settling post the dismal election results, Ramya is more active on social networks including twitter, thanking her supporters and fans.
About the controversial film Neer Dose, the actress does not want to react as the matter is before the court. However, it is learnt that the director of Neer Dose, is attempting to assuage the situation. But with the present scenario involving Jaggesh, and the controversy in court, the director is stuck with no other option. He had recently expressed that he is determined to continue the project with or without Ramya, by signing another actress!
In Aryan, which is shortly expected to hit the screens, Ramya portrays the role of an athlete alongside Shivanna, who will be seen as her coach in the film.
