Chiranjeevi to join BJP?
Hyderabad: After the election debacle of the Congress in Andhra Pradesh, most of the Congress leaders are in a distressing position and Chiranjeevi is one of them.
According to a source, Chiranjeevi was supposed to join the BJP before the elections, but the Congress put him in charge of the election campaign for AP, so he dropped the decision at that time. Moreover, his brother Pawan Kalyan became a hero in Andhra Pradesh and got close to Narendra Modi. Our sources added that Pawan Kalyan sent feelers to his brother and asked him to join BJP and Chiranjeevi responded positively. Senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu, who arranged meetings between the Telugu actors and Modi, is mediating to get Chiranjeevi into the BJP. As the BJP wants to strengthen its roots in Andhra Pradesh, it can use both Pawan Kalyan and Chiranjeevi to do so.
Seen in a very practical light, it is very likely that it may take another 10 years for the Congress to come back into limelight in AP, so joining the BJP will make sense for Chiranjeevi, our sources say. If everything goes according to plan, Chiranjeevi may announce his decision.
