Gold down by Rs 100 on stockists selling; silver up by Rs 200

Gold prices fell further by Rs 100 to Rs 29,350 per 10 grams

New Delhi: Gold prices fell further by Rs100 to Rs 29,350 per 10 grams in the national capital today on sustained selling by stockists against falling demand. However, silver found some buying support from industrial units and recovered by Rs 200 to Rs 41,700 per kg. Traders said continued selling by stockists against slackened demand at prevailing levels mainly kept pressure on gold prices. In Delhi, gold of 99.9 and 99.5 per cent purity declined by Rs 100 each at Rs 29,350 and Rs 29,150 per 10 grams, respectively. It had also lost Rs 130 on Tuesday.

Sovereigns were enquired at last level of Rs 24,900 per piece of eight grams. On the other hand, silver recovered by Rs 200 to Rs 41,700 per kg and weekly-based delivery by a similar margin to Rs 41,200 per kg, while silver coins remained unaltered at Rs 79,000 for buying and Rs 80,000 for selling of 100 pieces.
