Vamsichand Reddy defeats her rival with a majority of 77 votes

Hyderabad: State Youth Congress president Vamsichand Reddy won against BJP’s T. Achary with a majority of 77 votes in the Kalvakurthi Assembly segment in Mahbubnagar district.
The Kaivakurthi Assembly segment result was withheld on May 16 due to technical problem in the EVM of Jupalli polling booth. On May 16, Mr Vamsichand Reddy had 157 votes lead.
Under Election Commission orders, repolling was held on Monday. Of the 867 votes, and 833 votes were polled. In the counting that was taken up immediately after the voting, the Congress candidate got 77 votes majority over his BJP’s rival.
After winning the Kalvakurthi Assembly seat, the Congress strength in the Telangana Assembly has gone up to 21.
