Narendra Modi briefed on 100-day plan
New Delhi: Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi on Monday met Union ho-me secretary Anil Goswami, who is learnt to have drawn up a 100-day action plan for the MHA under the new government based on steps outlined in the BJP manifesto. It includes crackdown on cross-border terrorism and inflitration, beefing up internal security, improving Centre-state relations and countering left-wing extremism with a “zero tolerance” approach.
Former Intelligence Bureau chief Ajit Doval, who is reportedly among those being considered for the post of national security adviser, also met Mr Modi and briefed him on security challenges.
Seen as a familiarisation exercise, the meeting lasted 45 minutes. Sources said Mr Goswami had a three-point agenda — key issues bei-ng dealt with by the MHA; achievements in the last six months; and a 100-day action plan.
Mr Goswami also briefed Mr Modi on the bifurcation process in Andhra Pradesh.
