Chandrababu Naidu to take oath as Andhra Pradesh CM after June 2
Hyderabad: When Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan enquired with Mr Naidu when he would like to take oath as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, he replied that it would be only after June 2, the Appointed Day.
Later, a communiqué issued by Raj Bhavan stated, ‘Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan congratulated the TDP supremo, N. Chandrababu Naidu, on the astounding victory in the recent elections held for both the Assembly and the Lok Sabha. It is an excellent performance and the TDP has achieved it through hard work and cooperation from all sections.
The Governor said that it is unfortunate that TDP veteran Yerran Naidu is missing from the expert team. The Governor recalled that late Yerran Naidu always used to make representations from the Telugu Desam sporting a smiling face, when he (the Governor) was the head of the Intelligence department in Delhi.
‘He also recalled an incident in 1990s when security was downgraded for Chandrababu Naidu, and said he was directed by the then Home Minister to go over to Hyderabad to review the situation personally. “I remember that I first met Babu in Hyderabad and I found security and politics are two different compartments and restored his security as usual,”’ the communiqué said.
The Governor complemented Mr Naidu as a leader who never minced words while debating important issues. ‘He is a visionary, workaholic and a credible leader and will do things that last for posterity, at least five to six decades.
People are expecting good governance from him and he appealed to all the MLAs to work hard and advised them to visit their constituencies regularly to fulfil the aspirations of the people. He appealed to all the elected representatives to work unitedly as one family,’ the communiqué said.
“Though there will be differences on issues, let us resolve them through discussions,” he said adding that he is looking forward for a good working relationship which would help for the betterment of the state,’ the communiqué said.
