CBSE story is all about 100% result

Many CBSE schools in the city have secured 100% results

Hyderabad: Many students from city schools have scored A1 grade and a maximum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 10, in the CBSE Class 10 results that were announced on Monday. Most city schools secured 100 per cent marks.

However, as marks have been replaced with grades since 2010, the euphoria associated with results was missing. There are no “toppers” and the expectations, stress and anxiety levels among students, parents and school managements are less.

Schools like Johnson Grammar School, Nacharam, Meridian School, Banjara Hills, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan School, Jubilee Hills, Kendriya Vidyalayas secured 100 per cent results. Nearly 50 per cent students from Johnson Grammar School,Nacharam have secured A1 grades while 10 students got CGPA of 10, according to school principal M. Bharathi Lakshmi.

The Hyderabad Public School-Ramanthapur achieved 100 per cent results. HPS-Ramanthapur principal Ramandeep Kaur Samra said 19 students had scored perfect CGPA of 10 and 96 students were placed between CGPA of 8 to 10.

D. Usha Reddy, principal of Meridian School, Banjara Hills said that 29 students bagged a CGPA of 10, while 131 out of 166 students secured distinction.

“The subject wise results were also commendable with 51 students having secured A1 in social science, 48 in mathematics, 42 in science, 41 in second language and 40 in English. The school has maintained its history of 100 per cent results for 14 years,” added Ms Reddy. Meridian School at Madhapur also got excellent results in its second batch at the Boards with 8 out of 53 students securing a CGPA of 10.

As many as 52 students from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan School, Jubilee Hills, secured CGPA of 10, 115 students got A1 grade and 64 got A2 grade, according to school principal C. Rama Devi.

The Hyderabad Public School, Ramanthapur achieved 100 per cent results. 19 students have got a perfect CGPA of 10 and 96 students are placed between a CGPA of 8 to 10, said Ramandeep Kaur Samra, principal, HPS Ramanthapur.

A majority of the 45 Kendriya Vidyalayas in Hyderabad region secured 100 per cent results. CBSE had assessed the Board papers online, making the exam process more transparent than the previous system which only allowed for re-calculation and not re-evaluation. With the new system, the scanned papers help the Board to verify the results in case of requests for re-evaluation.
