Gangs ‘mark’ AR Rehman’s Los Angeles home
Hyderabad: “It is worrying,” said A.R. Rahman while talking about the incident at his house in Los Angeles.
The Oscar-winning composer had first tweeted about the incident on Monday and later, in a reply to a fan’s query on Reddit, Rahman said, “I think it was some kids who were trying to be smart. We have just got in security services to look after it. Thank you for your concern.”
On Monday, Rahman had tweeted, ‘Vandalism at my place in LA’ and posted a photograph of his home’s wall that showed the inscription ‘TVRX 3’ spray-painted on it.
On Facebook, his post attracted 257 shares and also a surprising number of likes (17,613). While one comment urged the Jai Ho hit maker to stay in India more and less in LA; others asked him to “heal hatred through his powerful music”.
Another comment claimed that ‘TVRX 3’ stood for Tooner Ville Rifa 13, a Mexican street gang that operates in LA, close to where Rahman lives. The tweet said the gang was most likely, “marking their territory”.
