Zomato plans to make Delhi its tech capital
Zomato, the restaurant search service, announced that tech enthusiasts are welcome to apply for a position in their tech team in the headquarters in New Delhi. The tech company is ready to shell out all costs for relocation, which includes, air fare, help to get an apartment, pay for deposits and broker fees and also a free stay in the company’s private guest house until they find an apartment to move in.
Zomato is on a mission to make Delhi the Tech Capital and Silicon Valley of India, instead of Bangalore, which is presently known as the Silicon Valley of India.
Zomato founder and CEO, Deepinder Goyal argued that Delhi is where the most influential startups are based out of. He also pointed out some of the main listed internet companies that started out of Delhi, which included, Info Edge, Jabong, SnapDeal, PayTM, Goibibo, and a few more. He further added that Zomato, Flipkart, and Myntra are a few others who started out of Bangalore, but Delhi is where they all meet.
