N Chandrababu Naidu may have office in Guntur
Guntur: In all probability, TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu would establish his camp office in the premises of the Acharya Nagarjuna University, or in Guntur city very soon. Mr Naidu is also likely to take oath as the CM either in Vijayawada or Guntur cities.
According to political analysts, Mr Naidu plans to spend at least three days a week in the camp office to be set up in Guntur because of its central location. Besides, Guntur is well connected with Prakasam, Nellore, Nalgonda, Krishna and West Godavari districts by road. Mr Naidu can also use the Gannavaram Airport to fly to Hyderabad whenever needed.
TD sources said the chief will take a decision within the next three or four days. Mr Naidu’s decision has already been communicated to senior IPS officers, confirmed the sources.
A senior IPS officer, on request of anonymity, said, “Mr Naidu is keen to spend at least three days a week in the camp office to be set up in or near Guntur city. He will take a decision soon. He is also likely to take the oath in Vijayawada or Guntur.”
Meanwhile, political analysts say that Mr Naidu will take a deciion keeping in mind the many benefits of setting up his camp office in the Nagarjuna University and thus establish the area as the new capital of AP.
The buildings of the Nagarjuna University can be used for administration and the state, which would be facing a cash crunch till the time the Centre releases funds, would save a lot of money.
The university has sufficient number of buildings to serve the immediate needs of the new government, besides 300 acres of land.
If needed, the government has the option of taking over the 400 acres of land which houses the APSP’s Sixth Battalion and the TB sanitarium. Analysts feel, that party can strengthen its base if the capital is established here.
