Land prices rise, capital will be more expensive
TD to face a tough time acquiring land for execution of developmental works
Vijayawada: Telugu Desam, which won the election on the “development” agenda, will face a tough time acquiring land for execution of developmental works in Krishna and Guntur districts due to high prices.
The price of land has skyrocketed in the district in the past 10 years, so much so that the previous government was unable to acquire land for completion of important projects like construction of Machilipatnam port, development of Gannavaram airport, widening of the Vijayawada-Machilipatnam highway, or the completion the ORR.
At least 3,500 acres of land is needed to complete these projects. Post split the price has gone up more. At present, a land along Vijayawada costs from Rs 1 crore to Rs 3 crore.
