Pawan Kalyan wants action on Vanpic and other scams
Hyderabad: Even before the Telugu Desam government has been formed in Seemandhra, cine actor and Jana Sena Party founder, Pawan Kalyan struck a discordant note with rival YSR Congress and challenged TD chief Chandrababu Naidu.
As the counting trend indicated victory for TD in Seemandhra, Pawan called on the Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Friday noon to end the Vanpic scam, which involved former minister and present YSRC MLA candidate Mopidevi Venkataramana.
“Mr Naidu’s government should put an end to scams like Vanpic and retrieve the acres of public land,” said the actor-turned-politician.
Mr Kalyan, a crowd puller at the TD-BJP alliance public meetings in Telangana and Seemandhra, dubbed the victory of Telugu Desam in Seemandhra and BJP’s at the Centre as people's verdict against corrupt and irresponsible governance. While conveying his regards to BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and TD chief Chandrababu Naidu for their stellar performance in the General Elections, Pawan called them to end the corruption and stringently deal with the scams.
He also congratulated KCR for his victory but asked him to put an end to his caustic comments on the people of Seemandhra and non secular comments on Modi.
“I hope at least now K. Chandrasekhar Rao ends his stinging comments such as ‘Seemandhrolu’ and secular ones (referring to Modi). Or else it would deepen the differences between the people of both regions (Seemandhra and Telangana),” said the 42-year old actor.
Asked about his role after the formation of the government in both region, Pawan said, “I will focus on highlighting the public issues and bring them to the notice of Mr Naidu and Mr Rao. Like the drinking water issue in Adilabad agency area.”
He, however, said that he would continue working in films and would enter politics full time only after strengthening his party JSP.
