Chandrababu Naidu warns he will fight corruption in AP with an iron fist
Hyderabad: Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu said he would not be vindictive, but he would fight corruption with an iron hand, a hint perhaps to his rival YSR Congress president Mr N. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who faces several corruption cases. “I have no personal animosity with anyone. I will not be vindictive though some tried to destroy the party in both the regions and in the process got destroyed,” Mr Naidu said.
He said the bifurcation of the state was not done in a scientific manner. “I was not consulted. The Congress is to be blamed. I will prepare a plan to develop Seemandhra on the lines of Singapore with Mr Modi’s support,” he declared.
He added, “The people of Telangana too have confidence in me and my party, and ignored the Congress, which gave Telangana. We won more seats than the Congress. We will join hands with any party working for social justice.”
Asked whether the TD would join the NDA government at the Centre, Mr Naidu recalled that earlier he had supported the BJP, but this time he was part of the NDA. “Don’t ask whether I am going to New Delhi. I will have to from now on. I predicted 300 plus seats for NDA. People are fed up with the Congress-led UPA’s corrupt rule. It has come true. Our main agenda is to ensure a corruption-free India, provide good governance, develop Seemandhra, and play a constructive Opposition in Telangana,” he said.
I will join hands with Mr Narendra Modi for the development of the State and country,” Mr Naidu said. The TD chief also said that he would strive for political, electoral, economic and administrative reforms in the Centre and State.
“A corruption-free India is our goal. We have to bring back Rs 70 lakh crore black money stashed in some tax havens. Public interest will be my top priority. Modi and I will strive to bring in reforms.”
