Shiv Sena-BJP heading for clean sweep in Mumbai

The Congress had won both these seats by over one lakh margin in 2009

Mumbai: The early trends in Mumbai suggested that the Shiv Sena and BJP may win all six seats in Mumbai. Even minister of state for communication and IT Milind Deora and Priya Dutt were trailing in Mumbai South and Mumbai North West respectively. The Congress had won both these seats by over one lakh margin in 2009.

In Mumbai South, Shiv Sena Arvind Sawant had taken a lead of over 20,000 votes. Out of the 87,880 votes that were counted, over 50 per cent votes have gone to Mr Sawant. The two time MP Milind Deora is in for serious trouble as even after the second round he has not even managed to get even half the number of votes earned by Mr. Sawant. The anti-incumbency factor has sharply hit Deora who has received only 22,164 votes. Aam Admi Party's Meera Sanyal has put up a flop show with barely 3463 votes which seem to be earned due to the Kejri factor. Raj Thackeray's trusted lieutenant and MLA Bala Nandgaonkar too is out of the race with 12.285 votes. Incidentally, 1221 people have come out to express all the candidates are hopeless and voted on the NOTA option.

Bjp candidate Gopal Shetty is leading with 63000 votes against sanjay nirupam of the Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam. Poonam Mahajan is ahead with 34132 votes against Priya Dutt. Congress candidates Milind Deora is also trailing by 24048 votes from Mumbai south constituency. Shiv Sena's Rahul Shewale was leading with 22062 votes from Mumbai south central constituency against congress mp Eknath Gaikwad. While Shiv sSna's Gajanan Kirtikar is leading with 12897 votes against congress heavyweight Gurudas Kamat from Mumbai north west parliamentary constituency.

BJP's Kirit Somaiya was leading with more than 18529 votes against Sanjay Dina Patil of NCP from Mumbai north east constituency.
