BJP leader denies charges of involvement in riot

Raja Singh files complaint with cyber crime police about the photographs circulated

Hyderabad: BJP corporator and Goshamahal Assembly seat candidate T. Raja Singh on Thursday denied involvement in the Kishan Bagh riots. Some of his photographs along with a man bearing a close resemblance to a gun toting man allegedly involved in the riots were being circulated on social media.

Security forces also drew heavy flak after photographs of securitymen running and standing next to rioters were circulated online. BJP candidate Raja Singh said he had filed a complaint with the cyber crime police of Cyberabad about the photographs circulated online. He said he had started getting threat calls after those who circulated the photos posted his phone number online.

The identity of the cops seen running alongside the rioters could not be verified. Four persons were killed on Wednesday after security forces opened fire on a mob. It is not yet clear as to who had authorised the Border Security Force (BSF) jawans to open fire at the crowd although some police officials of Cyberabad claimed to have issued the orders.
