One year in office, no bash, CM Siddaramaiah waits for Lok Sabha results

He asked partymen not to organise dos in view of the drought in the state

Bengaluru: A few supporters of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah gathered outside his official residence to celebrate the first anniversary of his government, but the leader himself chose not to rejoice the milestone on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Mr Siddaramaiah chose to tour arid district of Bijapur than stay in the city and receive compliments from ministers and party colleagues.

He asked partymen not to organise dos in view of the drought in the state. His colleagues are divided on the question of celebrating the event with some mooting the idea of organising a function on May 19, but some others were opposed to it. The issue could figure in a meeting of the coordination committee to be chaired by general secretary Digvijay Singh on Wednesday.
