Game not over, feels Congress after exit poll predictions
New Delhi: Even as the Congress and a number of political parties on Tuesday questioned the credibility of the exit polls predictions, the grand old party is under pressure to try to prevent the NDA from forming a government at the Centre if the latter fails to reach 272 mark.
“The game is not over. The Congress may get lesser seats but the NDA too is not increasing,” a Congress leader said.
If communalism is the main issue, then the anti-BJP parties can be united. The Left Front had backed the UPA-1 to check the NDA from coming to power, party insiders recalled.
The BJP managers have not been able to bring the Trinamul, the AIADMK, the BSP and the BJD on board yet despite the fact that all of them were its former allies. Ms Mayawati cannot ally with the BJP as the latter’s objective is to come to power in UP on its own. Ms Jayalalithaa didn’t like Mr Modi’s meeting with Rajnikanth and DMDK, PMK, MDMK leaders. Even the BJD fears that the BJP could occupy the anti-Congress space in Odisha.
